Living Area with fish pond

Master toilet has no door and no sink

Fish patterned bedroom doors!

Common toilet with original HDB Tiles, so ugly arghh

Open Kitchen

view from the 18th floor

Day and Night views from the living room window...it's actually a pretty scenic backdrop from inside, marred only by the green frames. And apparently we cant do much about the green frames unless we change the entire thing!

The Elusive Keys

TGIO!

Thank God it's over!

We have finally managed to get the keys, and only because we humbled ourselves once again and made our way to kallang bahru to collect the keys from the sellers. As usual, the missus of the family was cordial and polite, a facade masking her true self of inconsideration and selfishness! (cue music from Psycho) Their agent didn't even bother to show up to settle the payments and bills owed to each other. "he is very busy," said the seller. "whatever," we said. We've got the keys and can start renovation, the money they have to pay us is not a lot, but we're not letting it go either. A matter of principle.

The saving grace is that the house was a deal by today's standards. A lot of homes are going at 50K above valuation now. We heard that the property market is expected to dip mid- next year but we cant wait till then. Hacking has started at 10am this morning, and before long it will be nice and habitable once again. For a less than 5 year flat, the condition isn't great...or they made sure they didn't clean it the last whole month they stayed here for free!

The view from the living room is quite lovely. Can't wait...

is there no end to it?

It's 9pm and we still haven't gotten the keys. We suspect the sellers are being intentionally malicious. They have called their agent to inform him that they have moved out, but there was no effort on their part or their agent's to cordially meet us at the resale unit to hand over the keys. Perhaps they think we are pushovers. We are definitely humble and kind, but our blood pressure has been raised to dangerous levels.

They have requested we collect keys from them at their new place in Geylang Bahru. WTF. Selfish, unreasonable, self-centred, self-serving. What else can we say but to regret our purchase (almost) and ponder what lessons we are to learn from this incident. We've tried everything from being polite, firm, even aggressive when we called the sellers and ticked them off. We don't believe in cursing others but we do hope God is fair and just, and will serve retribution to those who do evil unto others.

If only there were laws to prevent such unneccessary incidents. Even HDB doesn't care. They do their paperwork and then fuck-care everything else.

we're still waiting for the keys...

it's 730pm on a Sunday. The sellers are still moving we presume. We called and they mistakenly thought we were their agent, so they said "we will definitely pass the keys later tonight, tell them don't worry." We wonder if "later tonight" means midnight?

the wait is giving us both a headache...and then we stressed ourselves even more playing puzzle games on the Wii...

*arggh*

handover of keys

We are supposed to get our keys tomorrow. "Supposed" being the operative word because that's what the sellers promised and that's what their agent told ours. However, till now, our agent hasn't heard from him. Our agent is getting quite fed-up himself, asking us to contact the sellers direct. The sellers don't really want to talk to us though...preferring that we go through their agent, who seems to do things in his own time and convenience.

In any case, our contractor will be starting hacking on Monday morning 9am. He says with a laugh that if they are still there, they will just hack around them.
